About the Co-op
This is the informational page aimed at those homeschooling families who live in Central Texas, especially the northern Austin and Round Rock area.
Kim Jones (science tutor) and Kat Patrick (English) team up every year to offer a co-op for homeschoolers in the town where they both live. The program changes from year to year, but always builds on their subject expertise and is separated into middle- and high-school levels.

Kim and Kat run paid-for, year-long courses with the international tutorial company called Dreaming Spires Home Learning. This local drop-off co-op, however, is a way that Kim and Kat give back to the community by volunteering their time. While there is a small charge for families, it's used for covering supplies and donating to the church which generously allows free use of the facilities.
For 2019-2020, the subjects will be General Studies and Science Fiction/Fantasy book club for middle school, and Conceptual Physics and Sci-Fi/Fantasy literature for high school.
You'll see that there is some overlap in what they offer at the co-op and what they teach for a fee at Dreaming Spires Home Learning: the difference is the intensity of expectation and the amount of oversight.
In other words, the co-op is more laid back in terms of the homework being set and tutors' input, and the relationship between it and the DSHL courses is purely by association of the people involved.
IN ADDITION TO THE TEEN/TWEEN CO-OP, we are gaining momentum in offering both a K-3 and 4-5 group. These won't be drop off and we're still working out the details.
For more info, you can contact Kat on Facebook or via the contact form on this website.
THE CO-OP BEGINS 20TH OF SEPTEMBER. A MORE DETAILED CALENDAR IS PUBLISHED ON THE FACEBOOK GROUP FOR ONLY REGISTERED MEMBERS.
